The dryad nymph ranks to the type Idea within the family of the noble-moth (Nymphalidae). The white tree nymph has a wingspan of 90 to 115 millimetres. The wings show a white ground-coloring. A closer look reveals that the wings are slightly transparent. The wing loaders are coloured black. Additionally there are black drawings in the form of lines and dots on all wings. The wing edges are lined in black. This black hem contains a series of white oval spots. The short antennae are quite thin and delicate. The front part of the body is predominantly black, the abdomen is white except for a black longitudinal line in the middle of the body. In the head area there are some small white spots.
